Dear prabhus,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

The most amazing news this month is of course from London Soho Radha Londonisvara temple. They distributed an amazing 5752 single books, but the most incredible thing of all is that they did a whopping 93 SETS OF SRIMAD BHAGAWATAMS for the Bhadra campaign!!! I think that they have really broken open the storehouse of love of Godhead by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. I have asked them to spread their inspiration to the rest of Europe, maybe by making some videos or even better visiting some other countries and sharing with them how they are doing it.

Hungary also had a good month as did Mahabhavi prabhu in Norway thanks to the association of Navina Nirada prabhu. Spain and Italy are very steady and gradually increasing as well as Slovenia with their famous summer padayatra distributing much more than usual. Also, Germany held a very ecstatic Padayatra as well and distributed many books. Another wonderful surpise was Sweden the headquarters of the Northern European BBT. They are now coming up to their original glory in book distribution and we hope that this continues anandam buddhi vardanam always increasing ecstasy.

I would like to share a passage from the Krsna Book from the end of the 22nd chapter. “Thus, the Supreme Personality of Godhead walked on the bank of the Yamuna, touching the leaves of the trees and their fruits, flowers and twigs and praising their glorious welfare activities. Different people may accept certain welfare activities to be beneficial for human society, according to their own views, but the welfare activity that can be rendered to people in general, for eternal benefit, is the spreading of the Krsna consciousness movement. As instructed by Lord Caitanya, one should be humbler than the grass on the ground and more tolerant than the tree. The toleration of the tree is explained by Lord Krsna Himself, and those who are engaged in the preaching of Krsna consciousness should learn lessons from the teachings of Lord Krsna and Lord Caitanya through Their direct disciplic succession.” Material welfare activities only give some temporary relief but spreading Krsna consciousness, especially through the distribution of Srila Prabhupada’s books gives eternal benefit to the conditioned souls. So as followers of Srila Prabhupada we have a great mission to distribute his books for the eternal welfare of the whole human race.

This is also from the Krsna Book in the chapter Prayers by the Personified Vedas. “As one who is interested in gold accepts all the differently shaped gold ornaments, so a Vaisnava, knowing well that all living entities are of the same quality as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, accepts all living entities as eternal servants of God. A Vaisnava, then, has ample opportunity to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead simply by reclaiming these conditioned, misled living entities, training them in Krsna consciousness and leading them back home, back to Godhead. “So, our mission as devotees is very clear, to distribute this knowledge in the form of Srila Prabhupada’s books and to read them ourselves in order to perfect our lives.

We will add a new feature to our European Sankirtan Newsletter starting this month. We will start an Arabic book distribution competition listing all the temples that distribute Srila Prabhupada’s books in the Arabic language. This gives so much pleasure to Srila Prabhupada that he even said that anyone who preaches in this field that he will take the dust from his feet and put it on his head!! There is special mercy in this service so let’s all participate with great enthusiasm.

Letter to Lalita Kumar -- Delhi bi 15 November, 1971:

Because you are very sincere and enthusiastic boy, and very intelligent also, Krishna has give you this position of leadership in His army, to win the war with Maya and establish Krishna Consciousness as the perfect way of life for every living entity.

If you simply push on this one activity of distributing my books, your all success will be there. I have hatched this "transcendental plot" for getting money by selling my books, and if we stick only to this plan, and use our brain for selling books, there will easily be sufficient money.

We were having some harinam sankirtan tours and one day after harinam in an empty city we were going by the river to rest a bit and have prasādam. I took some books with me "just in case" and some boys were just sitting there. I approached them and they happily took 1 book each. A few days other, a similar scenario, just preparing to take prasādam and a couple passed by. They had an inquisitive look "what's going on here"? A group of people in dhotis is not such a common sight. Still sitting I said to them something neutral "Hi, how are you today?" Seeing they were positive I got up and showed them a Bhagavad Gita. They were happy to take it and gave the best donation for that day. From these occurences I learned that it's always a good idea to have books with you.
